15 वर्षीय रुचिका, अपनी वीडियो में साफ़ शब्दों में कह रही हैं कि इंस्टाग्राम और जंतर-मंतर प्रोटेस्�� के माहौल के असर में आकर उन्होंने कुछ गलत बातें कह दी थीं। बाद में उन्होंने इसके लिए माफ़ी भी मांग ली। बच्ची ने यह भी कहा कि उसने अपने अकाउंट से कोई वीडियो पोस्ट नहीं किया था।

रुचिका अभी बहुत छोटी हैं। उनकी उम्र को देखते हुए यह संभव है कि उन्हें पूरी तरह यह समझ न रहा हो कि वे क्या कह रही थीं और उनके शब्दों का क्या प्रभाव हो सकता है।

ऐसी स्थिति में उनके साथ बहुत सख़्ती करना या उन्हें सार्वजनिक रूप से शर्मिंदा करना उचित नहीं माना जा सकता। उनके डर, मानसिक आघात (ट्रॉमा) और भावनात्मक स्थिति को समझना ज़रूरी है।

साथ ही, इस पूरे मामले का असर उनके परिवार पर भी पड़ रहा होगा, जिसे भी ध्यान में रखना चाहिए।
