मुंबई-पुणे द्रुतगती मार्ग जवळपास ३२ तास ठप्प होता. प्रवाशांचे कमालीचे हाल झाले. आणि यानंतर नेहमीप्रमाणे सरकारकडून या प्रकरणाच्या फक्त चौकशीचे आदेश दिले गेले. या आणि अशा अनेक घटनांच्या अनेक चौकश्या होतात. पुढे त्यातून काही बोध सरकार, प्रशासन घेतं का? हा प्रश्न आहे.

मंगळवार ३ फेब्रुवारीला संध्याकाळी ५ च्या आसपास गॅसचा टँकर उलटला. त्यानंतर सुरक्षेचा पर्याय म्हणून वाहतूक थांबवली गे���ी, हे पण योग्य झालं. पण अशा घटना घडल्या तर काय काय उपाययोजना करून कमीत कमी वेळेत रस्ता मोकळा करता येईल याचा कृती आराखडा प्रशासनाकडे तयार होता का? स्व. बाळासाहेबांच्या प्रेरणेतून हा द्रुतगती मार्ग उभा राहिला, त्याला २४ वर्ष उलटली. पण या काळात काय काय आप��्ती येऊ शकते ना याचा विचार केला गेला ना संपूर्ण रस्ता उत्तम दर्जाचा राहील हे पाहिलं गेलं. मधल्या काळात एकच गोष्ट तत्परतेने केली गेली ती म्हणजे टोल वसुली.

महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेचं टोलचं आंदोलन हे टोल घेण्याच्या बाबतीतलं नव्हतंच. ते होतं जर टोल घेता, तर मग सरकार, टोल वसूल करणारी कंपनी काय सुविधा प्रवाशांना देते याबद्दलचं. कालच्या घटनेनंतर हाच प्रश्न आहे की, रस्ता बांधला आणि टोल वसुल क���ला इतकीच सरकारची जबाबदारी आहे का ?

परवाच्या अर्थसंकल्पात मुंबई-पुणे हायस्पीड ट्रेनची घोषणा केली गेली. ती होईल तेंव्हा होईल. पण त्या आधी मुंबई-पुणे प्रवास सुरळीत करा.
हल्ली मुंबई-पुणे प्रवास हा नक्की किती तासांत होईल याबद्दल कोणीच शाश्वती देऊ शकत नाही. मुंबई आणि पुणे ही या राज्याच्या आणि देशाच्या विकासाची इंजिनं आहेत असं एका बाजूला म्हणायचं आणि ३२ तास या दोन शहरांतील वाहतूक ठप्प होते याकडे स्वस्थपणे बघायचं यासाठी लागणारा कोडगेपणा अनाकलनीय आहे.

ज्या प्रवाशांकडून या काळात टोल वसूल केला गेला तो सरकारने त्यांना परत केला पाहिजे. आणि चौकश्यांचा फार्स न करता या घटनेसकट इतर काय घटना घडू शकतात आणि त्यावर तात्काळ उपाय कसा केला जाऊ शकतो याचा कृती आराखडा तयार करून लोकांसमोर ठेवला पाहिजे. सरकारमध्ये पालकमंत्री ���सतात आणि या सरकारमध्ये तर पालकमंत्री पदावरून वाद सुरु असतात. पालकत्वाची इतकी आस असलेलं सरकार असून सुद्धा नागरिकांना निराधार वाटावं अशी परिस्थिती का येत आहे याचा सरकारने विचार करावाच.
