@RuralMedStudent If we gave everyone rationed access to free, quality education based on anything other than the money in their pockets, that'd be communism...
@Medic_Russell Itโs nice to switch it up every now and then to job where people donโt interrupt you while youโre trying to make a complex urgent decision for help with a complex urgent decision as someone simultaneously interrupts them to ask for help with a complex urgent decision
@amigurumedic @shortney0006 Yeah
Well, that impossible because time is money.
If I'm addressing every little concern of every patient, what they'll pay me wouldn't compensate for the money and life force i already paid to the med school and regulatory boards for the privilege to sit down with patients.
A perhaps unpopular opinion:
In medicine, eating lunch (and encouraging your trainees to do so) demonstrates strength, not weakness.
Doing so requires advocating for yourself and others, and even disrupting the system as it stands today.

@HilaryBKunkel Meh.
While ignoring the elephant in the room, I'd like to say that the first reaction shouldn't be focused around the process of pooling money to help someone.
@shortney0006@spxmernova Believe me I know how that feels. Maybe one in ten people I meet pronounce my name correctly.
What I am saying is, after all this time, I've seen that there's no inherent obligation on someone's part to respect or put in the effort. (But it's nice when they do.)
