Tonight, as he laid down to sleep, he looked up at me as tears filled his eyes. “Mom. I don’t want to be the only one left in 3rd grade. What if I fail?” If only TN law makers could see the faces of the numbers on the page. My kid is more than that number on that page. #onetest

Not enough characters allowed on Twitter to even describe it. Grateful to the Lord, my family, my friends, my staff, Cohort X and my chair. The journey was long, but man was it good. The elephant was eaten. Dr. Anna Sturm, EdD. @cartersensei #weEducateAll #excellenceIsInPlainview

Remember the boy afraid he would fail third grade because he wasn’t reading fast enough yet? He just qualified for gifted education in the fifth grade. Retention isn’t the answer. It’s good interventions and time. #weEducateAll @plainviewElem

A draft is being sent to my committee… next step is to defend and wrap up a final round of edits soon after that… the end is literally in sight. Like, when the milk expires in my fridge kind of sight… and it doesn’t actually feel real. I am grateful. #doctorateLoading
