@AvaSantina How appalling! Assumptions that all parents can provide a lunch to children are very middle-class and do not take in the reality of the parenting situations in which school provided lunches are necessary for children. Starvation during the school day has serious consequences.

@charles_mathies @Maahanmuuttovir Thank you for sharing, a spot on description. I ended up not working for 2 months in 2020 while waiting for an appointment/permit renewal. Such a waste of money and time, and a loss of tax income for Finland as well. The true human and financial cost of this problem is massive.

@GingerSyd @ColeenMacK_AUS @JaneCaro @smh I'm the author of the piece, and I can say that the food is OK and nutritious with salad, rye bread and milk, etc... Large service providers make the food and deliver it to the schools. Children clean up their own plates. Cooking is taught in home economics classes in school.
