🎨🌟 What a whirlwind of creativity! From sculpting wonders to painting masterpieces, this year has been unforgettable. Here's to an incredible year of artistry and self-expression! @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools#pleartistsinaction
Artists are springing into action! Kinder ss painted lupine flowers & discussed how they would bring beauty to the world. Gr 1 ss printed & painted beautiful symmetrical butterflies after reviewing the butterfly life cycle. #pleartistsinactions@WalledLkSchools@PleasantLakeEl
Gr 5 ss used watercolor paint and salt to create these gorgeous geodes. A geode is a hollow rock lined with an inside layer of crystals. They are formed in open areas of sedimentary & volcanic rock. It can take thousands of years for them to grow! @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Congratulations to these students whose artwork will be on display at the Walled Lake School Employees Credit Union until April 30th. We are so proud of their artistic achievements and excited that their artwork will be enjoyed by the community. @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Gr 1 ss had a hoot creating shape owls under the glow of the black lights in the music room. Thanks for sharing your creative space with us, Mr. Bowyer! #pleartistsinaction@PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Gr 2 ss learned that colors have temperature and can help describe emotion. Ss applied cool and warm colors to their pumpkin still-life paintings. We also explored the art of folding paper by creating origami “cool cats” and “hot dogs”. @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Gr 4 ss drew dragon eyes using analogous colors (colors found next to each other on color wheel.) Then, we sculpted dragon eye tile reliefs by adding and subtracting clay. I can’t wait to see how these will look with a splash of metallic paint! @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Kindergarten artists learned about the parts of a plant. Next, they “planted” a field of flowers using their paintbrushes. These are just beautiful! Happy Spring everyone! 🌸#pleartistsinaction@PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Second grade artists used watercolor paint (from recycled markers) to paint sea turtles. We’ve been learning about these endangered animals and how we can help by using less plastic. @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
Kindergarten artists used line, shape and texture to create a polar bear who discovers color! We were inspired by the book “Every Color”which teaches the lesson of appreciation. @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
First grade artists sculpted penguins last week using Model Magic clay. We pinched, rolled and pressed the clay to change its form. How great are these?! @PleasantLakeEl@WalledLkSchools
