With 2025 almost here, it’s time for resolutions you’ll actually want to keep: 10 Resolutions for Editors.
Resolution 1: Ask yourself this question: Are my edits making the story better or just different?
There is currently an incident on the Hanford Site and the Emergency Operations Center was activated at 5:25 p.m. due to an ammonia leak detected at a holding tank near the Waste Treatment Plant. The 200 East Area was put in a take cover as a precaution.
Billy Frank Jr. was a life-long fishing rights advocate who was arrested over 50 times. It was so wonderful to work on his important story with members of the Nisqually Indian Tribe and my @NWPBroadcasting team!

It’s been 80 years today since Hanford’s B Reactor went live to produce plutonium for bombs. This is the original chair the controller would have sat in. I’ll be in the hot seat soon with @OPBTOL live at about 12:35 pm today!
A collaboration of @OPB and @NWPBroadcasting.
This week I’ve been taking some Portland pub radio friends around #Hanford — they’ve never seen it. And it’s been a pretty big adventure to work collaboratively with a deft live show crew. We’ve already had some great guests on. Follow along on @OPBTOL!

It’s sometimes hard absorb so many tough wildfire stories and then spin a coherent story for radio, but @libdenk and @PodcastAlec help me bring it in.
An honor always to work with’em. Thanks too, for those that trust me with those tough stories.
