The Catholic Chaplain at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) has said that it has been “wonderful” to welcome members back to their building after three years of renovations.
The Catholic Chaplaincy at the university has been at its current site on Elmwood Avenue for over fifty years, but temporarily closed its doors in 2023.
Earlier this month, it welcomed students, staff and visitors back inside the reimagined space, which now also includes accommodation spaces for 47 students.
Today I met with King Charles at Hillsborough.
I welcomed his continued efforts to promote positive relationships between our islands, and people of Irish and British traditions here.
This included hosting Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly yesterday, and attending a Fleadh Cheoil event today, recognising and celebrating the vibrancy of Irish culture and language.
We all come from different lived experiences and perspectives, but that should never be a barrier to showing respect for each other’s views and identities.
As your First Minister, I am committed to building a society rooted in respect and equality for every person.
I will continue to do all I can to break down barriers and ensure our young people grow up in a better world than many of us did.
