Welcome to Ireland where people get away with racism! This little black girl broke my heart. Don’t skip this post without leaving a million heart for her. Make her famous…
@ScipioCk Fellow Public servants should be very choosy about what we work on. I am surprised by the number of people I know with antiracism backgrounds who went to work on this project. Some things we should not touch with a ten foot pole.
@PinkLadoo Anyone sticking up, no? The husband first and foremost - it is his job to run interference for his wife with his own family. (I understand you are getting at women not making the patriarchal bargain though).
@Robert6Cedric@dr_abela I’ve watched white people in organizations and they are very very happy being promoted while their racialized and Indigenous colleagues are escorted out the building. Some are happy while noticing and others are happy while not noticing.
@jchead @dr_abela So a PSES just for not- white people might provide new or even opposite answers to the mainstream PSES. Disag to the max, right from the start.
@jchead @dr_abela I’ve long thought of “best workplace of x year” to be a signal for extremely homogenous all-white workplace. “We love it here” is what the staff are saying, and they love it and all get along because they’ve pushed out all their Indigenous and People of Colour successfully.

We need to recognize the rich countries aren’t rich because of innovation and ingenuity but because they have made ripping off Black and brown countries as their primary industry
"The surgeon general recommends five “essentials” for workplaces to ensure employee mental health and well-being: protection from harm, connection and community, work-life harmony, mattering at work, and opportunity for growth."
Relief to see this affirmation. “Wellness programs can often feel like we are blaming the worker — when it is the workplace and the way that work is organized” https://t.co/OTVLSVO10y
I would be interested to meet someone who has worked for the public service for more than 6 years who can tell me they haven’t seen anti-Black racism. This would be a person declaring they are totally lacking in observational skills. Please do come forward.
Black workers have turned to the United Nations for justice, after much delay by the Canadian government in addressing anti-Black racism in the public service.
While studying the role of GBA+ analysis in policy, I asked @annaicameron & @LindsayTedds about diverse forms of data & if the govt should fund a pan-🇨🇦 network of scholars focused on #GenderBasedAnalysis & intersectionality ⬇ https://t.co/lx1PSOOG7E #cdnpoli#SenCA#SOCI
