I had such a great conversation with @TonyDUrso about something I think we’re all feeling right now: change is coming at us faster than ever.
I hope you’ll give it a listen!

@AnneGradyGroup explained emotional aptitude in a way that stuck with me:
It's not just understanding your emotions.
It's learning how to respond to them intentionally.
And as leaders, our emotional state affects everyone around us.

@AnneGradyGroup Leaders set an emotional tone whether they realize it or not. Your confidence, frustration, energy, or uncertainty can travel through an entire team. Emotional aptitude makes you much more conscious of what you’re putting into the room.
Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt the energy shift? That happens because emotions are contagious. Calm is contagious. So is stress, anxiety, and frustration. You are setting a tone whether you intend to or not.

San Diego, you did not disappoint.
Last week, I had the honor of speaking at AcceleRISE 2026, hosted by the @SIAonline RISE community for young professionals and emerging leaders in the security industry. A huge thank you to ASSA ABLOY for their support in making this happen.
Life isn't something that starts once everything is perfect. It's happening right now.
There will always be another deadline, another challenge, another reason to put joy on hold. Don't let "someday" become your default.
Be present. Take the trip. Laugh harder. Ride the horse.
Nobody goes into education for the easy days. They go in because the kids are worth it.
I got to spend time with 500 Taylor ISD teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff who live that truth every single day. Being in that room was a privilege.
@taylorducks 💙
Every student who walks through the doors of W.A. Porter Elementary is lucky to have the people I got to spend time with this week.
People who show up every single day for the kids in their care. In every interaction, every hallway, every moment that matters.💛
@BirdvilleISD
Most people don’t look overwhelmed. They show up, perform, answer emails, make appointments, and keep the wheels turning. But underneath all of that responsibility is often a nervous system running on fumes.
If that’s you right now, check out this week’s newsletter.
I had a fantastic conversation with @TonyDUrso about resilience, adaptability, and what it really takes to grow through change.
I can’t wait for you to hear it.
The episode drops soon. I’ll share the link when it’s live! 💙
San Diego, here I come!
I am so excited to be the keynote speaker at AcceleRISE 2026, hosted by the @SIAonline community for young professionals and emerging leaders in the security industry. A huge thank you to ASSA ABLOY for their support in making this happen.✨
When you make a mistake, which voice gets the microphone first: your critic or your coach?
Mine had plenty to say after I unloaded six very heavy boxes of books... at the wrong Marriott. That's the story behind this week's newsletter. 😂

This is why you say something you regret before you even realize what happened.
Your emotions crossed the finish line before your logic even hit the gas. The goal isn't to stop feeling. It's to give your brain enough of a pause to let logic catch up. 🧠
Turns out the to-do list survived without me. 📝
Rest isn't a reward for productivity. It's the fuel for it.
You don't lose momentum by resting. You protect it.

One of the hardest decisions I ever made in life was sending Evan to a group home 2,000 miles away. No pros-and-cons list could touch it. What finally gave us clarity was one question.

We are delighted to welcome back Anne Grady @AnneGradyGroup to #tcaseinteractive2026 to present on “EvolvAbility” at a time when it feels like everything is shifting.
Evan was expelled from kindergarten. A new school surrounded him with people who saw him differently.
This week, I got to speak to 1,000 of those people. You may never fully know the lives you change. But families like mine do.
❤️@txcase
Comparison makes us focus on what we're missing while overlooking what we already have. Happiness doesn't come from getting more. It comes from recognizing that what you have is already enough.

You don’t need toxic positivity to be resilient.
Resilient people get frustrated. They feel disappointed. They worry, grieve, and get overwhelmed.
The difference is they don't waste energy pretending they don't.

Eat the hot dog. Watch the fireworks. Stay outside a little longer. Let the kids get dirty. Take the picture. Call the friend. Laugh too loud.
Life isn’t waiting for the perfect moment. It’s happening in these moments.
