As much as I complain about spending money, I’m grateful I’m able to pay for the things I need and want

The point is that even people who don’t own cars still get hit by petrol increases.

They pay for taxis, buses and other transport.
Groceries get more expensive because trucks need fuel to move them.
School transport costs rise.
Delivery fees rise.
Businesses pass higher transport/logistics costs on to consumers.

So petrol price increases doesn’t just affect drivers, it gets baked into the price of almost everything people buy.
