I'm very honored to be among the 2023 Holt/Smithson Foundation Research Fellows and excited to dive into the archives at the @MiamiUArtMuseum this summer!
Quoting a famous Renaissance painting does not equate to mocking what it depicts. Did anyone get mad at any of these? They seem to be way more overt in referencing Da Vinci...
Two weeks in Venice with 20 undergrads whose awesomeness blew me away is now complete. I’ll post more about this experience later. But right now, shout out to my good colleague and friend @annerD23 who co-collaborated on this journey.
@MiamiOH_SB has the Eastern KY doubleheader officially moved to Wednesday (4/24)? It has changed on the schedule, but not theirs (and no announcement).
@PolisciMonica@phil_arceneaux It was a residence life email to students. You can find it easily in the replies to Miami's post. I think the event itself is fine, but the wording and puns were so cringe. I honestly can't understand how that got approved.
@MLBFanSupport would you PLEASE put a delay on your app notifications? I like getting them, but the final pitch of this game was ruined, and this happens a lot. I was watching the game live on YouTube TV.
I had a wonderful time sharing my research on Nancy Holt's work at Miami University for @HoltSmithson Foundation last week! Excited to do more with this project to turn it into a publication, and big thanks to @ArchivesAmerArt and @MiamiOHArtMuseu for their help in my research.
Revisting archival goodies from the summer to prep for an upcoming talk on Nancy Holt and I am struck by the recurring predicament of an artist having to be both her own advocate and executor of Smithson's estate. A comparative study of Holt and Krasner could be very interesting.
Q/B riders between Dekalb Ave and the Manhattan Bridge may catch a glimpse of "Masstransiscope,” a public art installation by Bill Brand. Learn more at our free virtual program with @annerd23 "The Moving Image as Public Art" Thu, Aug 24 6pm https://t.co/lMPGkVbsE2
Happy to be a part of this edited volume, just out today! Together with colleagues in Architecture and Art Ed, we explored artistic and pedagogical methods for responding to our campus's bronze cast of Houdon's famous statue of George Washington.
It's PubDay! Thank you to all authors to the volume Fallen Monuments & Contested Memorials. I am grateful to the work of Stephen Small, Brenda Schmahmann, and 1/4
@innesseff Yeah that's not great. They really shouldn't have to do anything strenuous outside with air like this. If this becomes an annual thing, it needs to go into the agreement with the contractor.
