isn't about the clothing itself, but about what lies behind it, because comparing nuns' habits to certain Islamic garments is a mistake. To begin with, we all know that a nun does not pose a security threat (she’s not going to suddenly explode or pull out a knife) nor is she going to attack anyone out of the blue, but beyond that, the big difference is freedom: no branch of Christianity whether Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox forces women to wear the veil or such attire. Christ grants women value, dignity, and a special place, and they may wear their nun’s habit if they FREELY choose to do so, of their own volition. In contrast, we know that under Islamic law, Sharia, the wearing of these garments is strictly enforced upon women, and that they are treated as second class citizens by Islam regarded as insignificant and without rightsto the point that if they do not wear them, they face death. That is why the real problem is that there is a deliberate attempt to impose this culture of control in Europe, North America, and South America something that simply does not align with our values of freedom or our culture, and therefore we do not want it, and therein lies the problem.
