Colorado is a black mustang #mare. She was rounded up from Little Book Cliffs CO in 1998. In 2021, we found her in a kill pen in poor shape after years of neglect. One of our lesser known #horses, she loves living out her golden years at #Skydog in a #wildhorse herd.
More than five pangolins are hunted every minute.
This unique mammal, the most trafficked in the world, faces constant threats.
But together with our partners at Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN), we are working to change their future: 🧵
Millions of pigs in the UK endure the terror of inhumane CO2 slaughter.
We’re closer than ever to securing a ban. Donate now to help end their suffering and farmed animal cruelty.

How do you discuss the complexities of human-elephant conflict with children who experience it first-hand?
This is a question the Mara Elephant Project education team is always trying to answer, especially during educational sessions at local schools.
They approach every student engagement with authenticity, grounding conversations in real experiences of living alongside wildlife. When speaking with students aged 10-16 at Pusanki and Ngosuani Comprehensive Schools, the team was able to connect classroom learning to everyday realities in the Mara.
The discussion quickly became interactive, with students raising thoughtful questions about crop damage, safety near wildlife areas, and how to respond when elephants move close to homes and farms.
In response, the team drew on lived experience working and growing up in elephant range, sharing practical, locally relevant strategies for staying safe while also protecting wildlife and the surrounding habitat.
The message throughout was simple and honest: we were you. Concerned about living with wildlife, wanting to see change, and choosing to take action to make coexistence possible.
By the end of the session, discussions had shifted from concern to responsibility, with students actively exploring how they can play a role in protecting wildlife within their own communities.
@theanimalvoters@ChrisMarteNYC Heartbreaking. Nothing is sadder than this. This beautiful horse didn’t deserve a life of exploitation and pain and abuse. People need to be held accountable for this death. 😢😢💔💔💔
Six chimpanzees have officially left a US laboratory where they had lived for decades, and all six have now arrived safely at Project Chimps, a sanctuary in Georgia dedicated to caring for chimpanzees once used in harmful experiments. The arrival marks a powerful new chapter for these animals who are finally able to live in peace.
Among the first to be introduced are Charlie and Twirp. Charlie is full of personality and loves to eat and drink, and has already made himself comfortable in the sanctuary, often found sprawled out on the floor completely relaxed. Twirp is equally outgoing and has been showing off his playful and expressive personality by giving a chimp greeting to every human he meets.
Charlie and Twirp get along well and love playing together, while four more chimpanzees will be introduced in the coming weeks. Project Chimps is supported by Humane World for Animals, helping give these remarkable animals the loving and safe home they deserve.

Horrific cruelty found on mostly Chinese squid boats by four-year investigation.
Dolphins used as live bait, some had their teeth pulled out first.
60% of Chinese vessels routinely slashed sharks' fins off, leaving them to slowly die.
Endangered whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, seals and penguins were also consistently reported as being captured and killed.

This speared giraffe in remote Tsavo was spotted by our aerial team on patrol. We flew a KWS vet to the scene in our helicopter, who carefully removed the spear gave the patient lifesaving veterinary care on the ground.
Reticulated giraffe numbers have fallen by around 50% in three decades. Every individual saved counts for the future of the species.
