Drivers of Protist Diversity and Functions, and Protist–Prokaryote Co-… https://t.co/bn7d9H407C
After a long journey this paper on protists in wheat rhizosphere was finally published. The work is part of Christine's PhD.
Our latest paper on effects of biochar on soil microbiome (https://t.co/oineUxLhp5) are now shared in the FEMS microbiology blog: https://t.co/mc2xpShP52.
Interesting news to increase subsoil health.
Effect of biochar on extracellular enzyme activity and microbiome dynamics across coarse sandy soil depths https://t.co/hJIGQUp5i0
My research group has published this nice paper of the GUDP project BioAdapt where we studied effects of biochar on subsoil microbes.
Please help me amplify a special faculty search. We're looking for someone in "Microbial Systems Biology" to join me and @kimreynolds_lab at UT Southwestern Systems Bio / Bioinformatics.
There is an empty lab space right next to us waiting for you!

@AnneW44 Our group presenting at the annual DMS conference. Zivile presenting a poster on mycovirus, Paul presenting a poster on effects of biochar, and I presented the KLIMINI data of effects of agricultural practises and NI. Great meeting combining science and social events🤩
New publication alert- Many Fusarium head blight-associated isolates, especially Fusarium culmorum, were found to host a diverse range of mycoviruses. @ZBuivydaite@AnneW44

Super excited this is finally out! "Integrating viruses into soil food web biogeochemistry"
Thanks to @AnneW44, @Rumakanta1, & @Carreira_Catia for fostering this collaboration!

A @EU_ScienceHub study on the diversity of soil eukaryotes – cell organisms 🐜🐞🪲🐛shows the ecosystem type is pivotal driver of soil biodiversity. Agricultural soils🌱🌽 are biodiversity champions, possibly due to a legacy effect of land conversion. https://t.co/02feQh3IoV
Interested in a PhD project on the importance of land-lake interactions and carbon cycling for high-latitude ecosystems at @UCPH_Research ?
Then check this opportunity at @BIO_UCPH out. https://t.co/mkHI48Y1t1. Deadline 15th Sep
@kirstenjharper We do like described in our publication Stæhr et al. 2022 here: doi: 10.3389/fmars.2021.800474
and more thoroughly described by Sapkota et al. 2023 here: https://t.co/5fJDOAawcZ. 😃
JOB OFFER: postdoc position on paleo-ecological modelling of megafauna species ranges, using a combination of ancient DNA, sedimentary DNA and fossil data.

Help me to spread the news please?
We have an open 2 year postdoc position in microbiome studies of muskox rumen studies including molecular microbiome studies. Read more and apply through this link:

This is a very helpful paper and a must read for newcomers in fungal metabarcoding! Among other messages it shows clearly that the ASV/DADA2 approach of defining molecular taxa is not applicable to fungal ITS (at the very least).
Our new preprint on microbe-microbe interactions on wheat roots led by @MHNicolaisen as part of the #NNF_INTERACT project: Viscosin synthesis influence Pseudomonas fluorescens SBW25 colonization and microbial assembly at the wheat rhizoplane in response to plant genotype.
