@petersterne@RossBarkan He can challenge all he wants, but it doesn't seem like he's established the relationship necessary with other senators to secure the votes
@politico The author should apply the same level of scrutiny to political operatives of different ideologies and people so easy to dismiss this as a nonstory better start treating everyone with the same lenience cuz y'all would've been on his neck if he weren't from the left or your friend
@_rebeccaclewis She could've made those offers with the expectation that they'd decline. The important thing is for certain interest groups to hear about it and know she's made the effort, especially when the final pick isn't from their group.
@_rebeccaclewis Was this before or after Reynoso announced his candidacy? There're like 3 other DSA electeds who she would've gladly endorsed if he hadn't run
@skrichev13 Not surprising she's splitting with the mayor which is inevitable and necessary for her brand, more surprising she's publicly endorsing against Lander given how much show she put on during the ICE arrest saga and the fact that they've worked together longer and have been amicable
@EricMGarcia She's still the same person, just more opportunities to contrast herself against bad people, both dem and rep, thus defining herself. But good on her for seizing those opportunities.
@RossBarkan Lander covers most of Goldman's base but with additional appeal to the left. Latimer and Bowman had very different bases and there were simply more people for Latimer in the district. NY16 was won through antagonism but it probably takes more persuasion in NY10.
