There is a candidate for the US Senate seeking to fill the spot in Maryland opened by Ben Cardin not seeking reelection, who just this morning added #BasicIncome to his platform. His name is @willjawando.

This is how UBI will finally happen. All of the pilots happening across the country at the local level lead to support at the local level, which grows upward as local lawmakers become national lawmakers.

Remember, this is an open seat in a blue state. A win in the primary will most likely mean a win in the general.

He also supports restoring the monthly child tax credit payments and other smart policies too.

Not only did homeless people provided unconditional cash spend it wisely and find homes, and not only did it save more money than it cost, but it also kept a mom from losing her kid, and even prevented one recipient's grandmother from becoming homeless herself.

"A lot of our participants had kids and they were single mums – it’s not something we necessarily measured – but in one example the cash transfer actually allowed a woman to keep her child."
