Meet MAGAt Steve Sumner, a former Indiana Republican councilman and preacher who spent over two years running like a coward from child sex crime allegations before U.S. Marshals tracked him down.

The facts are brutal. Initially charged in 2020 for horrific crimes against an underage girl, Sumner cut his ankle monitor and went on the lam in 2023. His run ended in a traffic stop in Kentucky, and just last month, he finally broke and pleaded guilty to Level 1 felony child molesting, rape, and possession of child pornography.

He is currently sitting in a jail cell awaiting his formal sentencing on August 14, 2026, where he faces decades in prison.
