This mindset is ridiculous. There are no artists with albums that 100% of the listeners love. It's not possible.
You can't keep treating the varied criticisms of each album as simply "haters".
Swifties biggest issue is that they deem any valid criticism whatsoever as a “hate campaign”. It doesn’t make you any less of a fan to be critical of your favorite artist and expect better especially when they are capable of doing so. The showgirl songs are just plain bad.
das meiste was ihr als linken antisemitismus bezeichnet ist einfach berechtigte kritik an den verbrechen israels warum hab ich so einen aufschrei noch nie bei rechten antisemiten gesehen??
A political song released on a random monday and some accounts are worried about charts, this place is doomed and you people lost the meaning of using art to criticize and talk about what’s happening. Women are losing their rights, our right TO VOTE is being questioned. “serena joy” wasn’t meant for pop success like Olivia’s album, it’s a criticism of what’s happening around us
In Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale", Serena Joy is a conservative, religious woman of high status. She used to be a prominent activist & public speaker who defended conservative ideas, only to have her own power stripped away once the system was established.
"She doesn't make speeches anymore. She has become speechless. She stays in her home, but it doesn't seem to agree with her. How furious she must be, now that she's been taken at her word." (The Handmaid's Tale - Chapter 8)
— In the song "serena joy", Olivia explores the hypocrisy of conservative women believing the system they uphold will somehow spare them, only to realize that ironically, it will oppress them too: "if they do it to them, they'll do it to you. if they do it to them, they're gonna do it to you"
