Putting US pharma profits before British patients is Starmer and Streeting's legacy
Signing a deal that could cost 229,000 lives is Starmer and Streeting's legacy
We don't have to accept that. Andy Burnham must rip up their disastrous deal.

Do something for me, @RupertLowe10.
Look, properly LOOK, at these 17 faces.
According to you this is ‘one murder’, worth less than Daddy’s guns

⚠️Warning to wildlife lovers and pet parents in Broadstairs!⚠️There is been a string of fox poisonings in the Stone Bay area (Eastern Esplanade end, near town centre). So far 7 (!) cubs and 1 vixen have been found dead in the garden of a fox lover in quick succession. 😭The cases which constitute a wildlife crime have been reported to the wildlife officer at Kent police.
If one of your fox friends arrives and is struggling to breathe and seems wobbly, get them to a vet as soon as possible. Briar House Vets have been informed about the poisonings and Kent Wildlife Rescue Service could help getting the sick fox rescued.
If you find a dead fox in your garden, do not handle the body as the police would only consider collecting it for a postmortem if it was not 'contaminated' by being handled. Poisoned foxes often have a frothy discharge coming from their mouth. 😑
I know this is challenging but DO take pictures from various angles and call to police quoting crime reference number #09-1286. Currently this case is "closed" due to 'lack of evidence' but that could change because someone somewhere may know something. If you know something, be the voice for foxes and speak up! 🦊
Such a shame the BBC has cancelled Winterwatch. We're one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world, and we need shows like this to help us connect with our wildlife! Please join me in asking them to rethink this decision. https://t.co/5r5F6XTYCF via @38degrees
@CarlBovisNature Your hedgehog post was the first thing I saw this morning. It made my day. I haven’t seen a hedgehog in years. Please don’t let these appalling people get to you. Block as many as you can and keep posting your beautiful photos 🙏
I'm currently the subject of what's known on social media as a 'pile-on'
(Others may refer to it as bullying.)
My crime?
I posted photos & videos of Hedgehogs visiting my garden! 😱
As a result, I'm being accused of all sorts, from using my Hedgehogs for monetization, to not caring about wild animals. 🙄
I don't need to explain myself to my loyal followers who know the truth and understand totally my character and motivations.
Thank you to those defending me, it's greatly appreciated. 🙏🤗
To everyone else (mainly the followers of @HedgehogCabin) you really don't need to be so nasty.
You don't need to tell me how disappointed you are in me or advertise that you're unfollowing.
I will keep my eyes on the visiting Hedgehogs. If they show other signs of illness, if they come out during the day, if they stop eating.. anything, I will get them to our vets (our local wildlife rescue will not take Hedgehogs that haven't been looked over by a vet first... I know this as I've taken Hedgehogs to them in the past that I was concerned about, even though I don't care about animals apparently...)
In the meantime, I'll keep feeding them, keep putting water out for them and won't unnecessarily stress them out by catching, handling and taking them to an alien environment.
By the way, this particular Hedgehog broke out from its biscuit meal to very nimbly and efficiently catch and eat a passing moth! Something I'd never seen before... but a pretty good indicator that its not actually, in fact, close to death.
As for monetization, I make very small amounts, and it's all declared and added to my income as part of my little business. I do it for the love... I've been sharing my wildlife photography and experiences here for 11 years, in exactly the same way as I do now. I don't need or want to do or say anything controversial at all, the one sure way of earning more here.... my account is about the least offensive account you could possibly find on Twitter! 🐦🦔❤️
🚨Tell the government: Protect Dr Abu Safiya
👉 TAKE ACTION: https://t.co/K8iExIvzS8
Please take urgent action for Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, whose life is in critical condition. He is the director of Kamal Adwan hospital in the Gaza Strip, and was abducted by the Israeli military over 18 months ago. Since then, he has been held as a prisoner without any charges. He has been tortured, denied treatment, and held in solitary confinement. His lawyers have just confirmed he needs urgent hospitalisation and that his life is in immediate danger.
🚨The UK-US pharma deal with Trump will cost 229,000 lives in England.
The deal is so bad that the editor of the British Medical Journal says it suggests "We’ll kill our poor people to make your rich companies richer”.
Dear @andyburnham, tear up this deal as Prime Minister. Thank you.
Whatever the Environment Agency says, we *will* restore our river…
Volunteers were back out on the River Roding this weekend, ignoring the threats & lies of @EnvAgency, to battle against the odds to restore a part of the river that the authorities have left to die. The stretch of the Roding around Ilford has some of the worst problems on the river: rubbish and invasive species on its banks; sewage in its water; and huge amounts of rubbish & debris in the channel. I applied for funding from the Mayor to sort out this part of the river (which would have paid for floating barges and skips), but having been rejected twice, I decided we should just get on with it.
This is not an easy part of the river to clean, as the water is deep in places & the high concrete banks means it’s impossible to get large objects out of the river in most places. Luckily, our previous clearance of the area north of ilford bridge in May gave us an exit point, and I brought up a large rowboat and canoe. Teams in waders could load these boats with rubbish & then float them to be unloaded & the waste taken up onto the road. As some of the debris was deeply buried in the mud, we set up a winch on one of the trees to haul it out. We got an unbelievable array of crap from the river: a TV, mattress, shopping trolleys, pipes, traffic cones, random bits of metal and even a bench, which is now cleaned off and offers a place to sit beside the river.
This section of river- right in the centre of Ilford- could be genuinely lovely. Whilst it’s in a desperate state, we saw large mullet, dragonflies and reedbeds slowly returning along the edge where we had removed invasive species. There’s still much to do though. Do message if you’d like to join us on Sunday 26th of July for another day of in-river cleaning at this spot.
Please share as widely as possible. He must be released
Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) and Attorney Nasser Odeh warned yesteday that Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, is in immediate danger to his life, following new information obtained during a visit by his lawyer, Attorney Nasser Odeh, on July 2 at the Rakefet facility in Nitzan Prison.
According to Attorney Odeh's affidavit, Dr. Abu Safiya was brought to the meeting shackled by his hands and feet and accompanied by masked prison guards. He bore fresh, severe injuries to his head, around his eyes, and on his ears and neck—to the extent that his lawyer initially struggled to recognize him.
During the visit, Dr. Abu Safiya experienced difficulty breathing and speaking continuously. He appeared extremely weak, struggled to sit upright without falling, and on several occasions seemed on the verge of losing consciousness. Attorney Odeh noted that he appeared frightened, exhibited severe psychological distress and was reluctant to speak freely due to fear of being targeted. Based on these direct observations, Attorney Odeh concluded that Dr. Abu Safiya’s life is in immediate danger.
Dr. Abu Safiya reported to his attorney that shortly after his Supreme Court appeal hearing (which took place on June 10, 2026), while he was held in solitary confinement at Ganot Prison, four or five prison guards entered his cell and assaulted him with a hammer and batons, inflicting injuries across his body. He further detailed that since his transfer to the Rakefet facility on June 24, 2026, he has been subjected to daily beatings, resulting in several instances of loss of consciousness, but without receiving appropriate medical treatment.
He expressed grave fear for his life, stating: "This is the last time you will see me… They brought me here to kill me. I don't see myself surviving. This is the end."
Really sad news. The cancellation follows the BBC's announcement that a number of programmes would be dropped as part of its ‘evolving commissioning strategy’
The Home Office wants to use faulty AI tech that assesses 14 year olds as adults in the asylum system. It’s super harmful, and could deny vulnerable kids their basic rights. Sign the petition to scrap it now! https://t.co/GD0cmrl0GF via @38degrees
I am gravely concerned by reports of a severe deterioration in the condition of Dr. Abu Safiyah.
We reiterate our demands for his release, along with all other doctors being held without charge.
