“Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her” is one of the most powerful statements made yet in support of this ticket.
Thank you, Harrison Ford. 🗳️💙
Quick 🧵 on the whole PTSD isn’t real thing. (I’m not giving the clip any more visibility)
Here’s one of the many problems with the ideology behind that goofiness…
it intentionally shifts the blame & the burden to the trauma survivor.

I think the thing that we need to be honest about is that the people causing this actually want Kate to suffer.
Patriarchy is a system where women’s caregiving is required, permanent, and selfless. It normalizes women demonstrating ideal womanhood by never asking for care
If you intentionally foster a culture in which men “rule over” women, women aren’t allowed to get out of destructive relationships and emotions are considered unhealthy, do not be surprised when abusive males are drawn to, thrive and are promoted to leadership in your culture
If men are lonely, they could consider taking on care responsibilities—childcare, eldercare—where they can interact with other people and be of meaningful, honorable service. Unless what’s actually being complained about here is a sense that men are not *being served* enough.

"If someone gets sex from me because they’re lying to me about the monogamy in the relationship, then I don’t know what risk I’m taking, and that sex is not consensual."
After eps 2 of Happy Shiny People, I’m trying not to cry. So much about myself and my past was shaped by Gothard’s teachings so watching was a bit surreal. Seeing the wisdom books, the games, the seminars…….
Excellent points. Standing for truth in this world doesn't mean being soft and squishy, but it also doesn't mean being a jackass. It's really not that complicated. I'm afraid we make it seem so in order to justify giving in to our baser instincts. But God's not fooled, folks.
Cooper: You have every right to be outraged today and angry and never watch this network again. But do you think staying in your silo and only listening to people you agree with is going to make that person go away?
“…it wasn't mental health that killed these people, it was an automatic rifle. I'm a gun lover. I have guns. I'm a former police officer. I’m a former Army officer ... prayers won't bring these people back. We need action in our legislatures.
Even if you’re not aware, specific controversy that she’s addressing, please read this thread by @sheilagregoire it’s such an important issue for marriage and the various conversations about marriage
It is Holy Saturday. A time of silence. The older I get, the more I realize the greatest threat to my faith is not my doubt. It is my desire for certainty. Faith is not about being certain. It is trusting the truth that God’s love and grace remains even when my faith leaves.
Whoever thinks me not fighting off or “giving into” sex with the predator/abuser when I was 7 yrs old & younger was me consenting…
I wasn’t allowed to say no
Pedophilia is a mental illness, not something that should ever be considered or legalized to protect someone’s fetish
@stewartdantec It's been a hard and frightening process to replace all those rules with uncertainty and even doubt, but ironically I am finding a deeper and truer faith shaped more by love than it has ever been before because of this struggle. God is faithful in the messy faith.
@stewartdantec This is such a beautiful thread and resonates with me deeply. This has been my own journey of faith coming out of a fundamental religious community where certainty and rules were the hallmarks of faith.
