Russia is now recruiting civilians for suicide missions, transporting gas to Crimea.
While the US seems to be using Idiocracy as its blueprint, Russia appears to be heading down the Mad Max path.

After today's attacks on Ukrainian civilians in Zaporizhzhya, Nikopol, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson and other places one comes to the conclusion that russians haven't suffered nearly enough.
Sergei Ivanov, once seen as a possible successor to Putin, has died at only 73. I interviewed him along with @CatherineBelton in 2007, when he seemed the presidential frontrunner. A different era.

“I have this pic of my parent’s house and everything around it (…) this is what I received at 8am. I had to deal with it, go out and play (…) I felt sick just from a thought that if it was 100m closer, I probably wouldn’t have a mom and a sister today.”

“Europe must prevent Ukraine from winning the war against russia. Ukrainians should lose because a Ukrainian victory would trigger World War III, and I don’t want to hide from bombs and missiles.”
Dieter Bohlen, a member of the band Modern Talking.
Following these remarks, Bohlen’s concerts have been canceled in several European countries.

Today marks the third anniversary of the murder of two Ukrainian heroes — Tigran Oganesyan and Mykyta Khanganov.
Two 16-year-old schoolboys from Berdiansk who became symbols of unbreakable resistance. They were among the first to tear down the russian tricolor in their occupied city, openly defying the occupiers.
For this, they were abducted, tortured, and falsely labeled “terrorists.” On June 24, 2023, russians executed them in cold blood in occupied Berdiansk.
They did not break. They did not bow. They did not surrender.
Their courage lives on. Their names echo through time.
We remember. We honor. We stand.
Tigran and Mykyta — forever in our hearts.

Imagine saying Watergate wouldn’t matter today.
That’s not a defense of Nixon. It’s an admission of how far political standards have fallen.
When a scandal once considered presidency-ending is dismissed as a 12-hour news cycle, the real story isn’t Nixon’s rehabilitation—it’s the normalization of behavior that once shocked the nation.
Judging by the deafening roar from the Kremlin's online propaganda machine — from useful idiots in the West and professional anti-'escalation' crusaders to hordes of trolls and bots on this hellsite — Ukraine's strikes at the very foundation of Russia's war machine are really painful and the Kremlin is getting really nervous.
