I read the #decembersissue of @TheAtlantic recently on a flight to London. I’ll admit it was my first time reading it but when I left that plane I felt smarter and oddly more optimistic about the world. Mostly due to its stunning writing #theatlantic#greatwriting
Good for Joanna Walsh @badaude for pointing this out. There are many such cutoffs when it’s often felt that older writers have ‘had their turn’ and don’t need support and/validation. Pious claptrap that infects several of Ireland’s literary orgs + festival organisers. https://t.co/gdhbQxPTFS
On a more positive note I received a fellowship last week, got commissioned and have a production company interested in a documentary I want to make. I did all of this without the aid of an agent.. #writing#author#literaryagent
The US agents are by far the nicer... at rejecting. They are also faster which is good and bad. Bad because I don’t believe any of them actually have read my work.. but good because I can move on #writing#writerslife#agentrejection
