Emotional flashbacks and C-PTSD

Sometimes I wonder if ADHD sometimes develops as a coping mechanism for regularly occurring trauma and the emotional flashbacks that follow.

Emotional flashbacks are NOT limited to childhood trauma.

For example, I have emotional flashbacks and my ADHD helps me to keep going and forget about them quickly. I don't think this is ideal, but I can see how this is something my brain might be doing to "help" me avoid dwelling longer in distress.
