This afternoon, accompanied by the Hon. Minister of State for Local Government, Hon. @JustineNameere , we addressed the media at Media center on the upcoming Local Council (LC) Elections scheduled for 28th July.

I encouraged all Ugandans to turn out in large numbers and actively participate in this important democratic exercise. Local Councils are the foundation of our governance system and play a vital role in promoting service delivery, resolving community issues, and driving development at the village and community levels.

Every vote counts. Let us all play our part in strengthening grassroots democracy.

BUSINESS PERSONS/ POLITICS/ ACTIVISM

This write up is useful for those in entrepreneurship and generally those who follow my x handle!

SOME people struggle with the fact that I don’t comment on every topic that’s trending especially those that are political in nature.

I chose as an individual to work in entrepreneurship space which is very tough space and yet very necessary for me as an individual plus Uganda as a country.

I also believe that the activism space in uganda has a critical mass especially here online and yet entrepreneurship which is very necessary doesn’t.

Rarely do you find a none entrepreneur being entrepreneur activist, it’s generally done by entrepreneurs but anybody can be a political activist whether paid or not.

OTHER FACTORS

1- I work for a few SMALL BUSINESSES operating in uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania which need customers, those customers generally speaking for example here in Uganda belong to both opposition and government.

Thats part of the reasons you don’t see those who own our economy, banks, telecoms, insurance, big hotels show sides.

The ‘ owners’ of the small businesses I work for expect positive results, otherwise, I have no salary at the end of the month.

Because some of you don’t wish me well, you want me in full time activism! I practice a bit of tourism activism and I have inspired some tourism players for themselves.

You rarely see a political activist fighting for tourism or entrepreneurship because they generally don’t know how they are related to this things.

You never see me fighting political activism out of respect. I strongly believe that political freedom can never exist without economic freedom.

Entrepreneurs create economic freedom.

2 - I have workmates who also have their different views about different topics and therefore, I must exercise restraint out of respect, otherwise, it becomes a political battle field.

3- Many of you don’t know but I sit on a number of boards outside our borders mainly tourism related and they to require me to practice restraint on some topics.

4- For example RWENZORI MARATHON owners’ expect me to engage government agencies, I can’t be abusing them all the time and engaging them at the same time.

I have to engage police , Army, local government, ministry of works, UEDCL, ministry of tourism, ministry of sports, health etc for the only UGANDAN WORLD ATHLETICS LABEL RACE.

RWENZORI MARATHON has many hotels in kasese, Fortportal , Rubirizi , ishaka full and it’s their high seasons and hundreds of other businesses. If you think that’s not important, please don’t follow me.

CONCLUSION

If you come to me and say, Amos , I will give you money to look after your family and all the above chain to join full time political activism, I will happily do and I have massive potential.

I have very strong opinions and on many occasions, I privately engage those I think I should. You can’t tell from my tourism activism if you are wise!

Also don’t be forced to follow me if I don’t represent who you want me to be.

I think people in health wanted to attract donor money but have ended up causing some sort of a lockdown. I hope I will not be taken to the basement to be quarantined.
