التخوين لا يغيّر الوقائع. الاعتراف بوجود أنفاق ومخازن سلاح لحزب الله لا يعني تبنّي الرواية الإسرائيلية، بل الإقرار بواقع يعرفه اللبنانيون منذ سنوات. فهذه الأنفاق حُفرت خارج سلطة الدولة، وسط القرى والمنازل والمعالم التاريخية، ثم تحوّلت إلى ذريعة تستغلّها إسرائيل لتدمير الجنوب من دون أي اعتبار للناس أو المكان.

المشكلة ليست فيمن يتحدّث عن الأنفاق، بل فيمن أنشأها وخزّن السلاح بين البيوت، وعرّض الأهالي والأرض والتاريخ للخطر.

اعتاد الناس بفعل الخوف من هشاشة #الجيش وسرعة ذوبانه أن يقدّسوه مهما فعل.

واعتاد الجيش، بفعل اختطاف #حزب_الله لدوره أن يكتفي بدور شرطة البلدية وحواجز السير

لكن بالحقيقة لا شيء مقدسّاً في الجيش.

ومشاهد انسحابه مشينة، وتقصيره في حصر السلاح مدوٍّ، وخوف قيادته من كل شيء، مستفزاً

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants summoned Iran’s chargé d’affaires in #Lebanon, Tawfiq Samadi Khoshkhou, where Secretary-General Ambassador Abdel Sattar Issa conveyed the Lebanese government’s decision to withdraw its approval of the appointed Iranian ambassador, Mohammad Reza Sheibani, declaring him persona non grata and requesting that he leave Lebanese territory no later than Sunday, March 29, 2026.

In the same context, the Ministry also summoned Lebanon’s ambassador to Iran, #AhmadSweidan, for consultations, citing what it described as a violation by Tehran of established diplomatic norms and protocols between the two countries.

يكتب أنطوني بركات عن الإعلام الذي يختار عدّ الأرقام بدلاً من الغوص في أسباب الحرب. وعن حصر السردية بالخطاب الإنساني، الذي يتحوّل بقصد أو من دون قصد، إلى بديل عن المساءلة لا مكمّلاً لها.

هكذا تُروى الحرب ككارثة بلا مسؤول، لا كقرارٍ سياسي يُفرض على بلدٍ كامل.

أما دعوة "العودة إلى اللحظة الأولى"، فإن كانت تعني التمثل بمقاربات أصحاب النظرية، فربما الأفضل عدم العودة إليها أبداً.
لأن لحظة هؤلاء لم تكن يوماً لحظة نقد، بل لحظة اختيار معارك، وعدّ أرقام، والاكتفاء بصورة إنسانية منزوعة من سياقها. والأوضح أنهم، في الواقع، لم يغادروا تلك اللحظة يوماً.

لا بــأس. ربمـا يخـرجون منهـا يوماً ما.

ربمـا فــي حـرب حـزب الله الجديــدة

في الفترة الأخيرة، لم يعد النقاش في لبنان يدور حول الحرب نفسها بقدر ما يدور حول كيفية الحديث عنها. فبعض صُنّاع الرأي — من إعلاميين ومنصّات وشخصيات عامة — يفضّلون "اختيار معاركهم" أي التهدئة في الخطاب، التركيز على النتائج والضحايا، وتجنّب الغوص في الأسباب المباشرة لما يحدث.

I don’t know what baffles me most.
Is it mistaking eloquence and a native accent with credibility?
Is it how non-sensical the “reasoning” was?
Or is it the tons of mesmerized followers who abandoned any sense of critical thinking and “saw the light”?
Or is it whatever mental gymnastics @SaraYafi will come up with to reframe her 20 minutes of illumination now that her whole thesis was debunked?

A report published by #IranInternational stated that Lebanese Parliament Speaker #NabihBerri receives more than $500,000 per month from Iran in exchange for supporting Tehran’s interests and those of Hezbollah in #Lebanon.

According to the report, officials in #Tehran said the payments are intended to “buy” the unity of the Shiite leadership in Lebanon, ensuring it acts in line with #Iran’s interests rather than Lebanon’s.

Following the publication of the report, Berri issued a statement claiming that an Iranian opposition outlet was attempting to damage his reputation with a story that is “completely false and baseless.” It is worth noting that the outlet had previously contacted Berri and requested his comment on the allegations before publishing the report, but he declined to respond at the time.

At present, the accuracy of the report cannot be independently verified. What remains clear, however, is that Nabih Berri has consistently served as a key political ally of Hezbollah, supporting the party across various positions and strategic choices. In return, he has benefited from Hezbollah’s military power, a dynamic that has helped entrench the “Shiite duo” alliance as a cohesive political force exerting significant influence over Lebanon’s state institutions.

This is how it always works. In Lebanon, we pay the price for living under Hezbollah’s domination, and we pay again when Israel bombs Hezb.

The same happens in places like Sweida, where people are crushed between one fallen regime and another imposed on top of it.

Since the moment I read this news, I have been thinking about it constantly — and about how unjust this world is. After the American and Israeli strikes on Iran, more than 148 schoolgirls were killed in a single school.

Some of them, or their families, may have been among the crowds who filled the streets just two months ago, protesting the regime. Maybe their mothers held on to hope when Trump said weeks earlier that support was coming.
