STORY8⃣2⃣

Here is my Villa story....
Only ever one team for me from the day of birth. Third generation of Villa fans. It all started with my Grandad who started following after we beat Arsenal twice in a week in September 1945. (4-2 away and 5-1 at home) I remember him telling me how we scored 9 goals and that’s what made him choose Villa. All of his 4 sons, one being my Dad follow/followed the Villa too. My Dad and uncle used to go to a lot of home and away games in the 70’s & 80’s until my Dad passed away when I was 9 in 93. He was ill and never got to take me or my brother to a game, although I’m now a season ticket holder and Steve comes to a lot of games. I love hearing the stories of the adventures him and my Dad used to have. 💜💙

Favourite Villa player ever
1993-94 onwards was the era I really remember. (being 9-10 years old) So many players stand out, the likes of Paul McGrath, Ugo Ehiogu, Ian Taylor, Tony Daley, Dalian Atkinson, the list goes on…But I’d have to say Dwight Yorke. Controversial I know but what a player.

Favourite player now
This is a hard one with so many quality players in the squad. But I’d have to go for Watkins, he going to smash Agbonlahor’s record and the numbers he’ll get to will take some catching.

Favourite Villa moment
Gaining promotion from the Championship with the win over Derby, I had my brother in laws stag do for Fulham the previous year and there was a couple of blues fans with us. Getting the result after landing was gutting!
