I can't believe the ignorance of some people.
Last night, sat in the pub..table next to me there were 4 middle aged men, they were going on and about illegal immigrants, men arriving on boats etc, saying they're bad, rapists, murderers.
After a while I jumped into their conversation and explained angrily, they are NOT illegal immigrants, they are asylum seekers and their generalisation of them was disgusting. They are fleeing war, poverty, crime etc, hoping for a better life in our country.
They are NOT criminals, they are fleeing that life. If their only route to freedom is on a boat, then they should be allowed to take that route. They were being persecuted in the country they came from and now they are being persecuted here. If, as a nation, we stop all this disgusting racism, the new people will enrich our culture, make our society a better place. For God sake, give them the chance they deserve

They slash one man’s leg open (10cm gash, fractured fibula, surgery), leave him permanently scarred and mentally wrecked, chase the other, then boast on video: “Chopped man up. On my life.”
Sentences? 4 years 6 months and 2 years 4 months. Both already on tags for previous offences. They’ll be out before most people finish a Netflix series.
