I'm encouraged to see India-US relations pivot from coercion back to dialogue, the only sustainable path for two great democracies.

On August 7th, I had written an open letter to US President @realDonaldTrump urging him to choose "coordination over coercion." The events of the past month confirm that view: duties disrupt flows, but they cannot diminish the logic of cooperation.

The road ahead is clear: India and the United States may differ in approach, but they cannot afford estrangement. Prolonged coercion hurts both sides, while negotiation offers stability and the prospect of a deeper partnership.
