Imagine a woman in Congress saying “I cannot apologize for my passion” like Rep. Yoho did; she’d be decried by opponents as being “emotionally unhinged.” Even Yoho’s so-called “apology” was rooted in misogynistic double standards about who is “allowed” to be emotional.
