I still feel like Resident Evil leans more towards survival horror, but interpreting the little girl, the mutated farmer and his family, the maternity ward, and other specific horror elements as manifestations of Bryan’s fear of becoming a father is genuinely fascinating.
Oh my god… I’m trying to play the RE4 remake, but I just can’t survive the village section. I keep getting chased by Dr. Salvador, surrounded by villagers, and killed over and over again. At this point, I’m just unlocking all the different ways Leon can die… I’m so done🫠
@MostAwesom I found it, but I panicked and got really confused with the controls, so it wasn’t long before I got surrounded by villagers climbing up the ladder and coming upstairs. 😭
I wonder if the director intentionally incorporated these elements as horror symbolism, but I find this interpretation really interesting either way. 🥹
