Volume Spike Scanner - one of the simplest ways to spot stocks that suddenly get interesting.

Most stocks trade within a fairly predictable volume range.

Then, occasionally, a stock starts doing multiples of its usual volume.

That’s when I want to know what’s happening on the price chart.

I use this scanner to surface those names instead of manually going through hundreds of stocks.

The workflow is pretty simple:

1) Run the scan during market hours; ideally around 9:30.
2) Shortlist the names showing an abnormal volume expansion.
3) Check the higher timeframe to see whether the move has a meaningful setup behind it.

The important part is not chasing the volume candle.

A volume surge can accompany a breakout, a reversal, news-driven move, profit booking, or simply temporary activity.

So treat volume as the filter, not the trade.
