Yuvraj Mehta was a young man.
He was 27 years old.

He was an IT engineer, sole bread earner of the family.

He always paid his taxes.

He was driving home in his car in Noida at midnight. It was a foggy night.

His car fell into a 70-foot drain through a broken wall.

Noida authority didn’t built that wall even after multiple complaints.

He managed to come out of the car, stood on its roof, and called his father for help.

He said “Papa, please save me”

His father reached the spot and called the police.

The UP Police arrived. The fire brigade arrived. SDRF arrived. NDRF arrived. The entire machinery was present.

He was screaming, “Please save me.”

But not a single person from that machinery was ready to save Yuvraj. No one was willing to enter the water, even though they were trained for this work.

Mind you, they are paid salaries for this very job, yet they still chose not to enter the water.

A delivery boy named Mohinder was passing through that route. He was shocked to see a man drowning while no one from the machinery was willing to do their job and save him.

He could not bear to watch this. He said, “I will go.”
Mohinder, an untrained man, went into the water, but he could not save him.

By the time he reached, Yuvraj had already drowned and lost his life.

Police said to Mohinder, “Agar tum 10 minute pehle aa jaate, toh iski jaan bach jaati” - what a cruel joke by the system.

We lost a young life to the system, through no fault of Yuvraj.

I hope those responsible for this incident face the same fate.
