Onboard the HMAS Sydney I was presented with the honorary rank of Commander in the Royal Australian Navy. Here I am with Vice Admiral Hammond and Lord Blakeney ( Max Pirkis ). I served with Lord Blakeney on the HMS Surprise back in 1805.
Once Navy, Always Navy.
On Remembrance Day, in collaboration with ANVAM the Embassy hosted “The Unknown Widow” exhibition, reflecting a universal theme born from the experience of all families struck by the tragedy of war. Artist Sacha de Wit’s work was also a tribute to 🇹🇷🇦🇺 bond forged at Gallipoli.
‘A modern battle plan is like nothing so much as a score for a musical composition, where the various arms and units are the instruments, and the tasks they perform are their respective musical phrases. Each individual unit must make its entry precisely at the proper moment and play its phase in the general harmony.’
General Sir John Monash, GCMG, KCB, VD

Ps. I’m doing ok 👌🏻
Called a couple of mates in last two days.
And an old mate called me.
I guarantee you that mate you just thought of. The one you haven’t been in touch with for a while - if you call em - they will appreciate it.
Give it a go :)
These next few days - post Anzac - is a high risk period for veterans for many reasons
Please check in on your mates. Who do you think may need a call? CYM 👇🏼
If you’re not doing ok there are some great services - who don’t judge - to speak with
Take care …

#AnzacDay2025 will be marked in Wiltshire, UK where thousands of Australian soldiers spent time at Hurdcott Camp during #WW1. The day was observed in 1917 at Hurdcott Camp and today, the view is largely unchanged. We will remember them.
Honoured to attend the Victorian Premier’s ANZAC Luncheon, where the service and sacrifice of the veterans was respectfully acknowledged. Also a moving tribute to the bravery of 🇹🇷 and 🇦🇺 soldiers who served at Gallipoli. Thank you @JacintaAllanMP and @NatalieSuleyman
