Here are the stages I typically had to go through and the type of questions I was asked about:
Warm-up questions - no right or wrong answers here:
1. What do you know about the company? Why do you want to work for us?
2. Tell us something about yourself - hobbies, passions, things you do outside of work.
3. Describe your day at your current job (if you have prior experience).
4. What's your prior experience? What's your expertise? Why frontend?
Technical questions asked during a call or in person - no code writing yet:
1. What is hoisting?
2. Is Javascript a statically typed or a dynamically typed language? Explain the difference.
3. Explain `this` keyword.
4. Explain call(), apply(), bind().
5. What is a Promise? Also what is async/await?
6. What is a callback? Also what is callback hell?
7. What's the difference between the rest and spread parameters?
8. What's is the box model? Also what is the difference between margins and paddings?
9. Does JavaScript have classical inheritance? Explain.
10. What do you know about accessibility?
11. What is the most reliable way to check if a field exists on an object?
Whiteboard tasks
1. Implement Array methods: map(), filter(), reduce()
2. Reverse a string without using built in methods, like: 'abcde'.myReverse()
3. Design a tick-tack-toe game in any JS framework- explain your thought process
4. Write a function that performs deep cloning of an object.
5. Build a simple React component to fetch and display data from an API.
6. Provide a detailed explanation of the differences between using `var` and `let` in a `for` loop.
7. Illustrate how prototypal inheritance works.
Take-home assignments:
1. Build a UI for a file system based on a design in vanilla JavaScript and CSS - no frameworks/libraries.
2. Implement a tracking mechanism to embed within the email content, which allows for the monitoring of email open rates

Event Delegation
Let's say we're writing a to-do app, where you can complete an item by clicking on it:
Seems logical to attach an event listener to every single `<li>` item, right?
Well, no.
Doing that has a lot of downsides:
1. Memory-heavy
More listeners, more space used.
2. Slows down the page
It takes longer for the webpage to load if you have many listeners to set up.
3. Difficult to maintain
Repeating the same logic increases the chance of inconsistencies .
What should you do then?
Enter event delegation:
Place a single event listener on the parent element and identify the clicked child element.
Regardless of how many items you add to the to-do list, just one event listener placed on the parent element is enough.
It's more efficient, easier to maintain and cleaner.
"But in React we would attach one event listener per to-do item, right?"
Yes, it looks like we're attaching a separate click listener to each `<li>`, but React actually uses event delegation internally.
It has one root-level event listener and figures out which component should handle the event.

I've been working as a software engineer for 8 years.
Here are 3 lessons I've learned:
1. Technical knowledge is less important than you think
I've met people who got promoted to senior+ levels even though they weren't that great at coding.
Their secret?
They knew the product really well.
They understood how different parts moved and were able to partake in the design meetings.
They could easily spot an incorrect feature behavior and report it.
Also they were pretty awesome to be around.
Programming is how you can get your foot in the door -no doubt about that.
But knowing how Promises work won't impress anyone either.
2. People are lazy - use that to your advantage
Very few people want to investigate an annoying bug.
Nobody wants to write tests, documentation or extensive ticket descriptions.
I'm not even gonna mention updating dependencies.
Use this to your advantage.
It's so easy to stand out nowadays.
Just be less lazy than those around you.
3. Be at the bleeding edge of tech or risk falling behind
Tech is every changing - everybody knows that.
That's why I don't recommended getting a job at a company that uses old tech, like Java 8 or some obscure JavaScript framework from the 2000s.
If you need to work there (as a first job for example) - start looking for a new opportunity after 12-15 months.
Companies want excellent programmer that know the industry standards.
Don't trade your potential for money.
