MEDIA RELEASE: Seven Ontario school boards are now under provincial supervision.

As OSSTF/FEESO President @marthahradowy said: “This level of government interference is unprecedented in Ontario’s education system, and it leads us to question the government’s real motives.”

For years, #OSSTF has warned about underfunding and staffing shortages. Supervision does not address those long-standing issues, in fact, it distracts from the challenges in Ontario schools.

“What is needed now is concrete action. Students and education workers are paying the price for years of underfunding and policy decisions that have ignored conditions in schools. The government must act to ensure safe learning and working environments for everyone.”
