This week AOPA were in Canberra to meet with key representatives from the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, as part of AHPA Member Day.
We have discussed key areas impacting our profession, including AT funding in Aged Care, the NDIS, access to the MBS, and utilisation of multidisciplinary care in Public Health Networks.
Today our CEO Jessica Landers, and board member Nigel Freeman joined Serena Ovens and Chair Nikolas Witcombe from ATSA - Assistive Technology Suppliers Australia met with the Hon. Bill Shorten MP, Minister for the NDIS, at Parliament House in Canberra.
In turn, we agreed to build better relationships within the AT sector and explore product stewardship.
AOPA will continue to keep working to make sure all NDIS participants have timely and equitable access to the AT they need.
Thank you to everyone who made our #AOPA24 Congress such a success.
Our office is taking a well-earned break, and will be back on board the week of the 4th of November.
