President Droupadi Murmu graced the convocation ceremony of AIIMS Nagpur. She said that AIIMS Nagpur has established itself as a leading centre for medical education, research and excellent healthcare services. She emphasised that no matter how advanced the technology may become, it can never take the place of compassion, integrity and a patient-centric approach. She urged the graduating students to always nurture a spirit of compassion.

One of the cabinet ministers in the Nehru government, V. N. Gadgil, wrote in his book that a Congress minister had said that Nehru ji was always concerned about his image in Pakistan. He wrote that the Somnath Mandir had made Indians happy.

As a PWD minister, on the orders of Nehru ji, he had carried out renovation and repair of many mosques and dargahs at public expense.
