I would ask @bphillipsonMP to visit the highest performing schools in the country & ask staff:
1. Why do ALL of your children succeed in & enjoy Maths & English (including disadvantaged)?
2. How do you ensure behaviour is excellent?
3. How do you achieve such high attendance?

This is a great video describing what is essentially the strategy of the best schools. The dominant approach, however, is everyone shuts their doors and teaches. I’ve worked in both types of schools. There is no contest: the alignment school is much more effective and satisfying.

@Mr_Raichura Totally agree, Pritesh. The talented @JJewellmaths did a session related to this (on 'didactic teaching') at #MathsConf36 where he took the Wikipedia definition and rewrote it after exploding the myths. I have pictures but won't share without Jack's permission 😀
