UPI was meant to make digital payments easier and cheaper for every Indian. Instead, the Modi regime is now burdening it with a 0.4% MDR on transactions above ₹2000.

At a time when unemployment, job insecurity and inflation are already hurting households, this additional cost will hit the poor, marginalised, middle class and small traders the hardest.

The government cannot promote UPI as the symbol of Digital India while simultaneously making it more expensive to use. The common man needs relief, not another burden.

Withdraw the UPI MDR.
