In an abandoned Bitcointalk thread from 2013, someone drew a stupid ape and asked if anyone would mine it.
No Roadmap, just an idea.
Just "APE"
They were laughed at immediately, called an idiot.
"So basically a coin with no purpose?"
"There are already too many altcoins"
"This is stupid"
One smart guy replied as a joke:
"Imagine people 10 years from now trading million s of dollars, of internet ape coins".
Little did he know, he'd be writing history over a decade later...
Someape was truly ahead of his time, he understood in 2013 that nobody else did:
Bitcoin has bitcoiners, Litecoin has miners, but the internet has millions of apes. People who buy things they probably shouldn't. People Who hold when everyone else sells, Anons who don't know each other but somehow end up doing the same stupid things together.
Maybe the "purpose" is that is has no purpose?
If enough people believe a useless piece of digital money belongs to them, maybe it stops being useless.
13 years later, the apes are still here.
1 APE = 1 $APE
