Trials are sent to test our faith. But it can be difficult not to look at others & think that they have it easier than us. Break away from that mentality. We can let our trials break us, make us bitter, or we can let them refine us & make us stronger. Choose wisely.
There will be that ONE person who doesn’t like you, no matter how much good you do. So be it. Remember, you’re not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok. The sooner you accept it, the easier it becomes to move on with your life .

The Supreme Court has reiterated that disciplining children, even if it results in physical injuries, does not automatically amount to child abuse. For such to be considered abuse, there must be clear intent to harm a child’s dignity.
This was the ruling of the Court in a Decision upholding the conviction of a father for child abuse after subjecting his 12-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son to violent and excessive discipline.
Under Section 3(b) of RA 7610, or the 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘦, 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵, any act that debases, degrades, or demeans a child’s dignity is considered child abuse.
The Supreme Court ruled that the father’s actions went beyond reasonable discipline, 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.
The Court emphasized that while parents have the right to discipline their children, such measures must not be violent, excessive, or disproportionate to their misbehavior.
The Court also noted that without the clear intent to harm a child’s dignity, the offender cannot be held liable for child abuse but can be charged with other crimes under the Revised Penal Code.
The Decision is from the Second Division of the Supreme Court, penned by Associate Justice Jhosep Y. Lopez.

Challenges are nothing new. At times, it can feel like those challenges may just beat you down. But if you want something, you have to keep going. Don’t entertain the idea of quitting; stay strong. The people who win in life are the ones who don’t quit.
Don’t feel miserable and depressed when people misunderstand and reject you. It’s part of the Almighty’s plan to make you realize that you shouldn’t rely on His Creation but only on the One who created you.
Let’s face it. You are not going to wake up every morning feeling like you can conquer the world. That’s ok. But don’t quit. Those “low” days are crucial in your development. The Almighty will see you through. Place your firm belief and trust in Him. Your load will lighten.
Learn to listen more and speak less. Learn to observe more and react less. You’ll be able to pick up a lot more than if you were busy speaking and reacting. And trust me, it would save you from a whole lot of trouble.
Stop worrying. Stop overthinking. Stop being pessimistic. If you trust the Almighty as you say you do, then put in your best effort and leave the rest to Him. He will work it out for you according to His timing. Not yours.
Control your tongue. Watch your words before they leave your mouth. Once uttered, it would be hard to retract them. Remember, some wounds even apologies won’t heal.
People will come and go in your life. That’s how it is. Don’t worry about it. Don’t try to hang on to those who want to leave. The Almighty will put total strangers in your path to get you where you’re supposed to be. Trust Him.
Don’t count your problems. Count your blessings. Do it often enough & you’ll emerge the winner. The Almighty will grant you strength in times of need, peace in chaos, joy in sadness and hope in hopelessness. The Lord of the Worlds won’t disappoint.
Gratitude is key to success in this world & the Hereafter. A grateful heart is everything. Remember, the Almighty’s unaffected if you become ungrateful. We thank Him for our own benefit. It’s only through sincere thankfulness that we can achieve positive growth in everything.
When you put the Almighty at the top of your priority list, watch the doors He'll open for you. He knows what’s in your heart so do it sincerely. Don’t pay lip service with your Creator. Do your best and watch your life unfold.
