@PclPodcast Quality album. Not one that I actually listened at the time, but I knew quite a few of the songs from them getting played in clubs. Wasn't until much later I gave this a listen to and loved it. Almost gutted it took me so long really.
@PclPodcast Ultimately though I quickly came to the realisation pretty quickly there's nothing good on this album that isn't on the vastly superior live album "Pulse" and stopped listening to it.
@PclPodcast I remember listening to this a fair bit in college cos I was involved in a production of "The Wall". Having then done a deep dive into Floyd after this it's easy to see that post Waters Floyd really lost their bite & the edge that Roger gave them.
@PclPodcast There are some moments of this album I do like. 'Coming Back To Life' has a lovely intro, even if it's then spoilt when the rather insipid beat comes in, 'Keep Talking' & 'A great day for freedom' are good but 'High Hopes' is probably the best song on the album.
@PclPodcast ...devastated when he left us. Really glad you guys are doing a deep dive into this brilliant album and congrats on the century chaps...keep it up!
@PclPodcast Blimey, how to fit this all into one tweet? Not ashamed to say like probably many others it was "Black Hole Sun" that brought me to this album, only really having the chart show/TOTP to go by as no access to MTV. This album became a gateway to so many other bands for me......
@PclPodcast ....so it stands as an important way point on my music journey. It's just a phenomenal work, full of glorious riffs, Cameron's awesome drums and topped off with (in my humble opinion) the best rock vocalist going at the time. Love everything Cornell has done and was truly.....
@PclPodcast This album was absolutely in my wheelhouse when it came out. I was still yet to branch out from cheesy rock and discover grunge and metal properly. I did this to death....big time. Yes it's pompous, yes it's full of ridiculously long songs but I just don't care. Love it!!
@PclPodcast I've been looking forward to this with a sense of morbid curiosity as my van is currently littered with the smashed remains of rose tinted glasses that you guys have stomped on in previous episodes ๐
@PclPodcast Whilst aware of it & remaining appreciative of her obvious vocal talent. It's not really anywhere near what I was interested in at the time. Probably know the singles but not much more than that.
