Do you ever fantasize about answering student statements like...
I found this staple.
Me: did you look hard for it?
Or
Where are you going to keep this precious find?

@alicekeeler@JoshKunnath I can see that point
In the real world, of teaching, I did get marked down for this & it was very impactful...happened 24 yrs ago & still bugs me that I did that. And it was an important lesson since before that I was a queen @ working the system
@JoshKunnath@alicekeeler And allowing students to be disrespectful of their teachers' time and forcing them into an unfair crunch time is pretty crappy as well. And kids, especially later in HS need to start being considerate when working with things like deadlines.
@alicekeeler I think it's a valuable opportunity to ask questions in these situations which allow the teacher to see that the tech allows for so much more than the same old, same old
Just got some news from @RemindHQ that @verizon is now raising their texting fee. I use this AT least 4 times a week for my students, parents, and basketball players. Please don’t take away this amazingly effective communication tool

@thesassyteach @alicekeeler Of course they should teach those skills, and if ANYTHING continues to be an issue reteaching and accommodations should occur... differentiation for success isn't abandoned. Like I said originally: age old arguement
@alicekeeler Can you prove it doesn't? Deadlines, work goals, collaboration, presentation (graphicly & orally) are all important. Should that be the grade of actual learning? Depends on the class. Should these factors be the ones that cause a student to fail, no. But important they are.
I had two district meetings to attend this afternoon at the same time! So OH JOY, I was able to pick!
Choice is powerful, and feels great, lets remember kids like choices too

You know you're a teacher...
when the kiddo that has been trying really hard to push your buttons and use all means possible to escape the room realizes a new tactic is necessary and resorts to the loudest, longest nose blowing for extended periods of time!
