Just finished up on Houstons Amare Thomas, and all I can say is…

Wow.

He is going to get lost in the shuffle because of how deep this 2027 receiver class is, but in every game I got to watch (Arizona, UCF, Western Virginia, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and Arizona State) he is usually a standout.

True NFL caliber speed, fluid hips when it comes to breaking routes, and the contact balance for his size is remarkable. He also plays above the rim, boasting a contested catch rate of 56% with 9 out of 16 balls.

Will he measure up as a prospect the levels of a Jeremiah Smith, Cam Coleman, T.J Moore and Mario Craver? Probably not in terms of consensus.

But as a Early Day 3, even a slim Late Day 2 guy that has shown to be reliable, that has shown he has the chops to keep up with NFL caliber corners, and has shown he is willing to work in order to hone his craft? Sign me up.

I really hope he has an even bigger breakout than he did this past year, because he deserves to be talked about more than he has been. If you have the time as well, watch the Arizona and UCF games especially..just an absolute dog.

@nickschwager_ Outside zone run concepts and some quick RPO sets? They will be in zone quite a lot though, so really you’re hoping for YAC opportunities through short yardage plays.
