I'm not trying to hate on Abbott elementary, but does the new season seem kinda badly written or is it just me? I felt like it was janky and off but couldn't put my finger on what made it seem that way, but now I know, it's the weird pacing and unnecessary storylines.

And why are the characters acting weirdly/differently out of nowhere? The way Melissa and Barbara shooed Janine away when they know that she's in a very stressful situation? And Jacob stopping his protesting after being told to? In what world would he have stopped?
