@david_ottertun probably critical theory and discourse analysis. there are programs that naturally combine both because they go hand in hand but even then I don't know if that's what I really want in the first place. other alternatives include cultural theory and comparative literature

@_03121997 I don't think that's true at all if you find the right subgenres (melodeath or djent is a bit monotonous but progmetal isn't), it's just really draining for me to chart because there's constantly so much going on
