🌞Sunny Long Weekend - Alert!
Heat stroke and stroke are distinct medical emergencies requiring immediate 911 calls, but they have different causes. Heat stroke is caused by extreme overheating, while a stroke is caused by a brain blood vessel blocking or bursting. Both require rapid, yet different, medical interventions to prevent permanent brain damage.
Key Differences:
Cause: Heat stroke occurs when the body's cooling system fails due to high heat/exertion. A stroke (cardiovascular stroke) is a "brain attack" caused by a clot or bleed.
Symptoms:
Heat Stroke: Extremely high body temperature (\(> 104^, red/hot/dry skin (often not sweating), headache, dizziness, nausea, and confusion.
Stroke (F.A.S.T.): Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call 911.
Treatment:
Heat Stroke: Immediate rapid cooling (ice bath, cool mist) and hydration.
Stroke: Specialized medication (tPA) to dissolve clots or surgery.

How are you handling your rest and stress? 🤔
We can be intentional with our rest and stress by discharging for in-the-moment situational stress and recharging after prolonged periods of stress. Use the two synergistically! :)
💫This is how we build generational health with the thrifting/iterative mindset!
