Today, Alhamdulillah, Namo and Islam spoke.
Over the last couple of days, there have been some problems, and certain things were said that should not have been said. Namo took responsibility for his words and apologized sincerely to Islam. That shows true character. A man can make a mistake, but it takes a strong man to recognize his mistake, admit it, and try to make things right. And it takes an even bigger heart to accept an apology and forgive.
This is part of the beauty of Islam. We ask Allah every day to forgive us, so who are we not to forgive one another?
Allah says:
﴿فمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ﴾
“Whoever pardons and makes reconciliation—his reward is with Allah.”
[Ash-Shura 42:40]
I am very proud of both of these men today. We are one Ummah. We must show unity, mercy, respect, and forgiveness toward one another, especially when disagreements happen.
As Muslim men, and especially as people whom young men look up to, we have a responsibility to lead by example. Strength is not only about fighting. Strength is also having the courage to admit when you are wrong and having the heart to forgive when someone sincerely apologizes.
May Allah continue to unite our hearts, guide us, forgive us, and make us good examples for the next generation. One Ummah.
