Don’t focus so much on an area of your life that needs to change or on something you want to happen. Don’t waste your precious time, your precious life, when God has already put “new things” into motion. He’s making a way for you through the wilderness.
You are not where you were a year back. If you aren't happy with where you are, you can choose to be some place else next year. A lot has changed and a lot can change. Time is fleeting. Nothing is final. Don't let setbacks push you back. Prepare for great comeback.
David said to his son Solomon, “Get to know the God of your ancestors.” There’s something about knowing those who went before you, knowing what they accomplished, what they endured, how God stepped in and made ways and opened doors and turned situations around.
God knew there would be these times when we would feel tired and overwhelmed. He knew that what brought us to where we are is not enough to get us to where we’re going. So, with every new season, with every new level, God has a fresh anointing.
When the apostle Paul told the Philippians, “Be anxious for nothing," he was in a prison cell awaiting a trial that could end in his death sentence for preaching the gospel. But Paul gave a clear statement as to his antidote for anxiety: “In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7).
Happiness doesn’t automatically happen. It’s a choice we have to make. You can’t wait to see what kind of day it’s going to be; you have to decide what kind of day it’s going to be.
The Scripture says, “David encouraged himself in the Lord His God.” He kept his mind focused on the right things. Not the betrayal, not the offense, not the loneliness, but on the promises of God. He wrote, “I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living.” His roots went down deep.
You are just one decision away from a new life. You can just decide to believe in yourself more and watch the magic happen. Don't let fear block you. Every moment brings limitless possibilities. You can change the life anytime by changing self defeating narrative in your mind.
It’s significant that David described a tree planted by the river. That tree is not worried about drought or a dry season. Its roots go down deep into the ground. It draws water from the river. It has a source that trees not planted by the river don’t have. If you’re always going to be in blossom, you have to be like this tree by the river, with roots that go down deep.
Your journey isn't same as others. Some people have things easier than you. They have lesser blocks. They have more support. They get to move faster. That doesn't make you slower if you are busy clearing way alone. Be respectful of your life. You are doing well enough.
There is a supply line you are connected to that’s not dependent on circumstances, how people treat you, how you were raised, what the experts say. It’s a supernatural source that causes you to flourish, where your leaf will not wither.
The enemy is trying to plant lies, doubts, and fears, hoping that you’ll give them a place in your mind. Clear out those negative thoughts. Get those intruders out of your mind. Put some new tenants in: faith, hope, and victory.
Your goals give you direction to pursue but success depends on your actions, your routine, your habits. What you do consistently determines your patterns. Your patterns decide your momentum. Rise to the level of your dreams. To change life, change your habits.
It’s time to serve worry an eviction notice. Let peace in. Let trust in. Let faith in. Every time worry comes back, use that as a reminder to thank God that He’s working on what you’re concerned about. Philippians 4, “The peace of God, which passes understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”
Sometimes you need to confront hard things to turn them easy. You have to fight the fear for a moment to make the change happen. Take that first wobbly step to gain confidence. It's ok to be slow, scared and cautious. You don't have to rush. But start walking. Keep showing up.
You don’t have to go through life hiding, pretending, feeling bad about yourself. God knows what you’re dealing with. He sees the tears behind the smile, the strength beneath the weight, the courage despite the fear. That’s not how your story ends. Healing is coming.
There’s the life that everyone else sees, and then there’s the life that only we see. We know how to smile in public while we’re hurting in private. God sees what you can’t show. He’s not faulting you. He’s not disappointed in you. He’s the one who’s going to restore you.
It would be much easier if God gave us the dream and then just brought it to pass, made everything easy. But we would never grow, we’d never develop our spiritual muscles, and we’d never learn to really trust Him. In the difficult times is where you show God what you’re made of.
So many times, when negative things happen, we just tuck them away into our heart. Then, when we want to remember what is good, the negative memories are there that make us feel lonely or depressed. I want to encourage you to remember the good. Philippians says to "fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
